Time sure flies when you’re having fun! I’m sure that’s what Gerry is thinking as he looks back on the nine years that Remex, Reynolds Emergency Express has been in business. It was April 1991 when Gerry Reynolds, President and owner of Remex first began operations out of his home in Stratford with his
wife Darlene.

It all began with a 1990 International straight truck, one customer and Gerry as a one man show. Within the next three years, another 4 trucks were added and Remex became a busy expedited carrier hauling mainly automotive product for a few large customers.

In order to keep his company on the cutting edge, Gerry contacted Cancom about equipping his fleet with their satellite tracking system. Remex was
the first transportation company in the area to use satellite tracking.



In 1995 a secretary was added to the office and by September 1996 the business needed room to grow and
was moved into office space on Erie Street. Within the next year the fleet showed a dramatic growth and three more office staff were hired. In July 1998, Gerry and Jack Rutherford of
The Rutherford Group became neighbours in the new building they
built together on Wright Blvd. Along
with beautiful office space, this facility also includes a shop and wash bay
and a large yard to accommodate the current fleet of 26 trucks.

Reynolds Emergency Express has earned an outstanding reputation built with a commitment to service time sensitive expedited freight which is second to none utilizing the latest technology in satellite tracking and computerized dispatch. Remex is the proud recipient of the C.H. Robinson Service Award and was also
nominated for a Business Excellence Award in 1999.

Probably the most appealing quality about Remex however is that it has remained a family owned, local
business that knows everyone by
name. Gerry believes that the
personal aspect is and always will be
an important part of what Remex is all about. In the past year we have enjoyed a company BBQ, a great Christmas party and an appreciation dance for all of our customers and business associates.

Remex has come a long way since its beginning and looks forward to continued success as a part of Stratford’s community.
